The still life paintings I am presently making, are composed with the intention of having no meaning. They are composed to convey a state of something existing and being there only to be looked at.
Though once I have made the picture, I start to see associations, things that remind me of where I come from, where I belong or reflections of our human existence, our relationships. These are all personal things and I imagine this is what others see too, and it will always be different, for everyone that looks it will be personal, their own reflections or associations.
I avoid if possible any narration or story telling, attempting always to make something to encourage contemplation.
