I am thinking about art, painting, drawing, photography and it hurts my head

I look at a photograph and I know I am looking at a place or a person or a time in particular. The photographer may make a decision regarding composition, what to leave out, what to include, whether to use a big camera or an iPhone. Other than that the photographer just has the reality in front.
A work of art which is initially drawn in some way is different, even if the source or subject is taken from a photograph. The depiction is now an idea made manifest, even if the idea is just a thought of a photograph. It seems to me it matters not whether it is drawn with a pencil, a paintbrush or even a drawing program on a computer, it is still a thought working its way out of a human mind.

The art work is now something of the imagination, something that is of the spirit or soul, who can know …. I will have to think about this some more ….

This image is both vector and raster drawn, the next step is probably an acrylic painting;

computer drawing art work by Lester Blair

a collaboration between a stranger and an artist with a camera on a Wellington sunny morning.

I am holding an inkjet print, I guess an artists proof, I will get some prices for bigger prints and hopefully put in the store;

I am holding a print from the initial computer drawing with the acrylic painting above.
