This week I have been busy painting mac-unions, short flare nuts, hex nipples and such like. It helped that I was once a fitter. Other than that I am about to send out my first newsletter where I ask my self some questions and then find I answer only one of them. The questions I am asking are;

  1. Why have I now returned to painting?
  2. Why did I leave painting and take up photography?
  3. Why have I combined painting with photography?
  4. Am I not concerned that I will be accused of slavishly copying a photograph. Isn’t it pointless, all this detail? Art dealers show what’s new, novel and hard to understand, so why am I doing something that looks dumb?
  5. Why am I not seeking a well paid job, or working long hours as a taxi driver because every one else in Wellington seeks high salaries for overseas holidays and big houses?
